Stranded ship poses offloading problem

KOLKATA: Officials of the Kolkata Port Trust (KoPT) are faced with a strange dilemma. For over four days now, the MV Tiger Spring is stranded on a sandbar near Nurpur in South 24-Parganas.
Experts from SMIT Salvage the Netherlands-based firm engaged by the  ship's owners have inspected the damage suffered by it after Tuesday's collision with another cargo vessel moving from the opposite direction and have suggested that containers be removed from it.
