Metro-North is leasing 500 parking spaces at the Harriman train station to Woodbury Common Premium Outlets for employee use over the Labor Day weekend, a major shopping holiday.
Marjorie Anders, a railroad spokeswoman, said the designated spaces are located at the north end of the lot so that the prime parking area closest to the platform is still available for train customers. The station has a total of 985 parking spaces.
Woodbury Common, which also rents spaces from the railroad through the Thanksgiving weekend, will shuttle employees to and from the station, provide security patrols and clean the area before the morning rush Tuesday. The rent is $2.35 per space per day, or $3,525.
