Three men wearing sunglasses and clothing to conceal their identity brazenly walked into a store at the Wrentham Village Premium Outlets Tuesday night and fled with about $20,000 worth of merchandise after one of them assaulted a clerk, police said.
The men all wore sunglasses, wool caps and hooded sweatshirts as they entered the Burberry store around 8 p.m. and immediately began grabbing merchandise, Detective Lt. William McGrath said.
A store clerk who approached one of the men and told them to leave the store was shoved out of the way, and she was warned not to call police, McGrath said.
Employees told police one of the suspects had been in the store in the past carrying a bag lined with material to defeat the inventory control system at the door.
When an employee called 911, the suspect left the store and drove off in a late model silver Chrysler. Burberry is a clothing and apparel store.
One man was described as Hispanic, about 6 feet, 3 inches tall with a muscular build. He was clean shaven and in his early 30s.
The other two suspects had similar descriptions. Both were black, about 5 feet, 10 inches tall and muscular. One was unshaven and the other was clean shaven.
