Norwegian Parliament ratifies Barents Sea deal

Norway’s Parliament has voted unanimously in favour of the bilateral Norwegian-Russian maritime line of delineation in the Barents Sea.
Today’s referendum comes as a result of the compromise struck bietween Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg and Russian President Dimiti Medvedev under his two-day state visit to Norway in April last year, as well as the treaty signing by Foreign Ministers Jonas Gahr Støre and Sergey Lavrov in Murmansk five months later.
