Gas leak sends 1,300 shipyard workers home

About 1,300 Northrop Grumman Shipbuilding employees were sent home Tuesday after crews found a propylene gas leak at the shipyard, company representatives said.
Crews saw the leak while upgrading the facilities and taking some corrective actions following a fire at the yard on Dec. 16, spokesman Bill Glenn said. The leak was discovered just before noon on the dock, near LPD 24, and amphibious transport ship named Arlington.
